At MagStor, a division of MAGNEXT LTD, which has been in business since 2006, we specialize in repairing a wide range of tape storage equipment. Most repairs at our depot are completed within two business days from receipt of your tape drive, but if you're in need of a faster service, we can perform expedited repairs, advanced exchanges, or even offer trade-ins towards a new system. Our facility is ESD safe, temperature and humidity controlled to ensure the highest quality of work. Our years of technical expertise allow us to service all brands, including but not limited to: MagStor, IBM, Quantum, HP, HPE, Overland Tandberg, Dell, Oracle, Spectra Logic & many more. Our expert team has the technical experience to get your equipment back up and running to its original manufacturer specifications.

Our Repair Process

We offer a professional repair process that starts with an in-depth diagnosis. For a flat diagnostic fee of $149, you can send your tape drive to our facility in Columbus, Ohio. Here's what we do:

  • Disassembly and Cleaning: We carefully take apart your tape drive and perform a comprehensive cleaning. This includes thoroughly cleaning the read/write head and all internal mechanical parts to remove any debris or dust that can cause errors.
  • Manufacturer-Level Diagnostics: We then run a complete diagnostic suite, a specialized tool used by manufacturers that is not available to the public. This allows us to precisely identify any faults or failing components.
  • Detailed Quote: Once the diagnostic is complete, we will provide you with a detailed explanation of the problem and a no-obligation quote to repair the device.

The $149 diagnostic fee you paid will be applied directly toward the final cost of the repair.

Additional Repair Services

  • Firmware Updates: We'll check your firmware version and update it to the latest version at no extra charge with any repair.
  • Quality Control: All repaired equipment and components undergo extensive testing to ensure they meet or exceed original performance standards.
  • Repair Warranty: We stand by our work and back all repairs with a comprehensive 6-month warranty included with any repairs that require parts. A 12-month warranty option is also available.
  • Expedited Service: We understand that your data is critical. We offer expedited repair and shipping services to minimize downtime. Please note that express services may incur an additional charge.
  • Maintenance Contracts: NBD (Next Business Day) maintenance contracts can be quoted post-repair on any tape drive or library system.
