Enterprise tape technology for library workflows
The M2000-G2-BASE-L8-1DRV pairs a new MagStor M2000 G2 library chassis with one enterprise-recertified LTO-8 full-height Fibre Channel BASE drive. Tape cartridges, a compatible Fibre Channel host connection and library-aware software are selected separately.
This fixed M2000 G2 BASE bundle includes one full-height drive and supports a maximum of one drive. The 24-slot platform is not expandable.
Enterprise Grade Recertified
Proven hardware, restored and qualified.
The BASE mechanism is inspected, serviced, tested and qualified by MagStor storage engineers. It is not sold as an as-is used drive.
Inspection & cleaning
Tape path, loader, airflow path and mechanical components are examined and serviced.
Read / write qualification
Head health and drive performance are tested against MagStor acceptance criteria.
Firmware & support
Prepared with stable enterprise firmware and supported by MagStor technical support.

Capacity is native, uncompressed and per cartridge. Tape cartridges are sold separately.

Host connection & software
Use a compatible Fibre Channel host adapter or fabric, the correct data cable and supported drivers. Windows, macOS and Linux support depends on the host adapter, driver and application configuration.
Choose backup, archive or LTFS software that supports IBM LTO-8 drives and standard tape-library automation. Examples to evaluate include Veeam, NetBackup, Commvault, Arcserve, Retrospect, Archiware P5, YoYotta and XenData; required software editions and library support vary.
Library-aware software required. Software designed only for standalone tape drives may not support library automation. No standalone desktop LTFS software license is included with this library or drive-module SKU.
