How ePro Works

The MagStor ePro presents the tape drive over 10GbE iSCSI networking. A workstation or server claims the tape device directly, making it appear as a locally attached tape drive to that system.

Windows includes Microsoft iSCSI Initiator built into the operating system. Linux includes native iSCSI initiator support through standard OS tools. macOS requires a separate iSCSI initiator from ATTO Technologies; it is available from MagStor at a discount.

Important Note About Full-Height Models

The E10G-L9 uses a full-height LTO-9 tape mechanism and does not support internal dual-drive or mixed-generation upgrade configurations.
