Compatible Add-On Drive Modules

Add-on drive modules are available for SAS and FC environments. The M1000 G2 supports one half-height drive only.

Speed is listed as the native maximum sustained read/write transfer rate per drive. Actual transfer speeds may vary based on job type, host connectivity, backup/archive software, file size, data compressibility, source storage performance, and overall system configuration. HH = Half-Height. DP = Dual-Port. SP = Single-Port. Maximum Qty is the maximum supported drive count in the M1000 G2. Full-height drives are not supported. Backwards Compatibility includes the drive generation’s native media plus supported previous-generation read/write media where applicable. R/W = read/write.

*Compressed capacity is a theoretical maximum based on 2.5:1 data compression. Real-world compression varies significantly by data type and workflow; many media files, encrypted data, database backups, and already-compressed archives may see little to no compression benefit. Use native capacity for conservative planning.
