The MagStor M6000E is a high-density enterprise LTO tape library built for organizations managing large-scale backup, archive, and long-term data retention workflows. With 80 slots in the base chassis and support for up to 7 full-height or 14 half-height drives, the M6000E is designed for demanding enterprise environments, hyperscale archives, media production, scientific research, and large-capacity disaster recovery deployments.

Enterprise Scalability: From 3.2PB up to 41.6PB Native, Uncompressed Storage

The M6000E starts with 80 cartridge slots for up to 3.2PB native capacity using LTO-10 40TB cartridges. As storage requirements expand, the platform scales to 1040 slots and supports up to 21 full-height or 42 half-height drives for as much as 41.6PB of native, uncompressed LTO-10 storage.

MagStor Tape Libraries use standardized LTO and SCSI communication, making them compatible with almost every software package that supports LTO tape libraries. Our LTO tape libraries are engineered using authentic IBM LTO tape drive mechanisms and industry-standard automation controllers.

Whether a software vendor has explicitly certified a specific MagStor model or simply lists IBM LTO as a supported device, MagStor libraries are designed to integrate seamlessly into backup, archive, and LTFS environments.

Compatibility At-A-Glance

The examples below are not a complete compatibility list. Any backup, archive, or LTFS software that supports IBM LTO tape drives and standard LTO tape libraries should work with MagStor library hardware. LTFS applications designed only for standalone tape drives are not compatible with tape libraries.
